Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. Her acting career began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. Since her childhood, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. When she was in the fifth grade after having mumps she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let it stop her from performing. While in college, she studied drama and moving to New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. She landed one as an actress supporting the lead character of Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since then Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous television movies and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
